I have been meaning to put this excellent introduction to Vis by Henry Wismayer of the Winnipeg Free Press published in July 2013.
However, the pictures he has chosen don't do it justice. This one is a better example of what you will see as ferry docks on arrival.

But, for anyone who is contemplating a first time visit to the island this article gives a real flavour of what to expect. It truly is "The Mediterranean as it once was."
