This is a very exciting new development by European Coastal Airlines which will, eventually, enable direct drop-off close to Split Airport; which will dramatically reduce international journey times to Vis.
Unfortunately …. (last I heard, in May 2014) the Vis islanders seem to think that it will bring in day-trippers from the mainland and so are against it!
This seems very unlikely – small aircraft = small numbers, and expensive for the riff-raff – so we are hoping they can be persuaded to change their minds in time for next season.
